Congratulations to our admin here @lightweight, and his business partner Isaac Freeman (is Isaac here?), on the launch of Magnificent. A company providing managed hosting of Free Code packages, onshore in Aotearoa. This is the sort of things I tried and failed to set up with some friends as Bridge Seat Co-op (second attempt for me), and I’m thrilled that some fellow software freedom warriors have already made it further than we did (ie actually launching services 
). If you know anyone who needs hosting, I recommend you consider sending them Magnificent’s way.
What I’m wondering though, is what are the implications (if any) for the iridescent.nz services, including this forum? AFAIK these services are run mainly by @lightweight (1) and he pays the domain fees and such, with no formal structure since NZOSS sadly collapsed into its own gravity well (the last NZOSS AGM I’m aware of was in 2022). Although the same cluster of volunteers also maintain the handful of services still under nzoss.nz; the Drupal homepage and the Mastodon service (am I missing anything?).
So I’m curious to know how @lightweight (and Isaac) are thinking about iridescent.nz at present. Is it now a suite of demo services for Magnificent? Or is there still an intention to create a community org to replace NZOSS, and manage iridescent.nz as a project of that? I have full trust in our admins and I’m happy with either. But I do think this is a useful opportunity to clarify what’s happening with these services, and what future evolution might look like.
